Day 1 (Wednesday)


Depart Sydney aboard the Indian Pacific this afternoon and start a true journey of contrasts. As you venture beyond the city limits, settle back, open a book or enjoy the social atmosphere of the Lounge. This evening delight in a sumptuous dinner before retiring to your cabin. (D)

Day 2 (Thursday)


Wake up with a coffee as you arrive in Broken Hill, a classic mining town. Here you can explore the beauty of this Silver City on an Off Train Excursion. The remainder of the day is spent onboard watching the passing scenery, chatting with new found friends and indulging in a delicious lunch before arriving in the city of Adelaide. On arrival, transfer to your accommodation. (B,L)

Day 3 (Friday)


This world-renowned wine region is a must-see for wine lovers. Full of history, this region is home to over 80 cellar doors. Visit one of the oldest vineyards in the world, with Shiraz vines planted in 1843 (that’s over 170 years old). Enjoy up to four wineries/cellar doors and be guided through the wine tasting experience by passionate vignerons. Two wine regions combine to make up the Barossa Valley: Eden Valley for amazing Riesling and cool climate wines, and Barossa Valley, home to some of the world’s best Shiraz as well as Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon Mataro, Semillon and Chardonnay. Day 4 (Saturday)


Today is yours to discover Adelaide at your own pace. Do a spot of shopping in Rundle Mall, take the tram to the seaside suburb of Glenelg or simply indulge in the comforts of your accommodation. (B)

Day 5 (Sunday)


Depart the city towards Glenelg to take the coastal route to the Fleurieu Peninsula. The beautiful mid-south coast, with its glistening vistas of the Gulf St Vincent and pristine beaches, awards your arrival to McLaren Vale wine region. Pass through rolling vineyards to visit up to five beautiful wineries in the ‘Vale’. Each one is steeped in history with friendly, knowledgeable staff, happy to guide you through each wine tasting experience. Best known for Shiraz, the region excels with Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay as well as Spanish and Italian varieties such as Fiano, Vermentino, Tempranillo, Mouvedre, Nero d’Avola and Sangiovese. Day 6 (Monday)


Travel via air from Adelaide Airport to Kingscote Airport. On arrival, you will be met by your guide and your Kangaroo Island experience begins. Get an introduction to Island life. Have a cuppa with some home-made cakes before taking a walk down a country track through tall eucalyptus trees where koalas snooze overhead. Travel through some of the Island’s best farming country to the north coast. At Lathami Conservation Park walk quietly through the bush with your guide. Break for lunch and enjoy a delicious meal featuring King George whiting (local sea fish) and fine South Australian wines at a private bush location. At Seal Bay Conservation Park walk among Australian sea lions on a beautiful sandy beach. The remainder of the afternoon is spent exploring more of the south-east region of the Island with destinations and experiences chosen to reflect seasonal opportunities. (B,L,D)

Day 7 (Tuesday)


Today explore some of Kangaroo Island’s highlights and lesser known backtracks of Flinders Chase National Park - a wilderness covering nearly 200,000 acres. It is home to a wide array of wildlife. The drive down to Cape du Couedic takes in some dramatic dune country with a complex fire history and an interesting range of vegetation types. At Cape du Couedic observe a fur seal colony at rest on the rocks or frolicking in the surf under Admirals Arch. Next stop Remarkable Rocks -  huge natural granite sculptures that have been carved by relentless winds, rain and salt from the Southern Ocean. Local wines and produce are a feature of your picnic lunch which can be enjoyed out in the bush before exploring more of the Island. (B,L,D)

Day 8 (Wednesday)


Explore the remote north-west corner of the Island where the wilderness of Flinders Chase National Park converges with some of Australia’s tallest cliffs. Explore the lighthouse settlement including a tour through the precinct and the small cemetery, Scott’s Cove, Harvey’s Return and the backtracks of Western River Cove. Enjoy being off the beaten track, take in the vast expanse of scenery. Your tour concludes at Kingscote Airport for your return flight to Adelaide. (B,L)

Day 9 (Thursday)


Take in any last-minute sights today. Begin your journey this evening at a beautiful Adelaide restaurant where you will enjoy a sumptuous dinner featuring modern Australian cuisine before being transferred to the Adelaide Parklands Terminal for a late evening departure aboard the Indian Pacific. Sleep comfortably as you head north-west to the vast expanse and beauty of the Nullarbor Plain. (B,D)

Day 10 (Friday)

Indian Pacific, Nullarbor Plain

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and then marvel at the ever-changing landscape passing by your window before settling down to a regionally inspired lunch. Dinner under the stars awaits at Rawlinna, the remote and beautiful outpost that borders a ‘little’ sheep station of a mere 2.5 million acres (8,000 square kilometres) (weather permitting). (B,L,D)

Day 11 (Saturday)


After a restful sleep, you are greeted by daybreak and breakfast in the picturesque rolling hills of the Avon Valley. Then enjoy a delightful lunch as you head to your final destination of Perth, arriving mid afternoon. Transfer to your accommodation. (B,L)

Day 12 (Sunday)


Transfer by coach to Barrack Street Jetty and join Rottnest Express for your ferry service across to the Island. Explore the beauty and tranquillity of the Island as you sit back and relax in the comfort of an air-conditioned coach. A 90 minute tour around the Island takes you to some of Rottnest’s most spectacular locations including the Wadjemup Lighthouse and the rugged West End where you will also have a chance to step outside and stroll along the boardwalk to the majestic lookout point. Enjoy a delicious lunch at Karma Rottnest Lodge before exploring the Island at your leisure. Return to Perth by ferry later this afternoon. (B,L)

Day 13 (Monday)


Start the day in Perth with a morning tea tour. Enjoy a coffee or tea with a dash of history, culture and arts. Explore the Heritage Precinct of Perth, the old theatre district as well as former educational precincts. Enjoy a complimentary coffee or tea at a popular local café with your guide, while you immerse yourself in the wonderfully re-purposed heritage building in a forgotten area of the city. Visit secret gardens, discover hidden art and visit a fine art gallery while learning some of the more interesting anecdotes about the city. After the tour, you are free to explore the new public spaces of the historic Cathedral Square and the brand new Elizabeth Quay, or simply head back to your accommodation. (B)
